Coatfield Lane, Edinburgh
- In 2017 the post-war, brutalist Linksview House together with Cables Wynd House received listed status. While the towers offered a new vision for social housing in the 1960s 50 years on its context and setting required review. The City of Edinburgh Council is pushing forward plans to demolish low-rise sixties housing around Coatfield Lane in order to facilitate development of 32 homes for social rent arranged across five ‘colony’ inspired terraces. The project looks to densify the area and bring a strong family and community aspect back.

UrbanPioneers in collaboration with Collective Architecture have looked at ways to integrate the monumental Linksview House into the small scale surrounding urban fabric, improve connections and natural surveillance within the urban fabric and enhance the extent, purpose and quality of the open space.
