We have worked closely with Dualchas to ensure the new units are carefully inserted into the landscape.
The wider landscape design and the design of external spaces (common areas such as the streetscape, a small playground and a seating area as well as private gardens) are designed to benefit from the spectacular setting despite the sometimes harsh climate.
Green shelter belts weaving through the site east to west including along the northern and southern edges provide shelter and protection to houses and gardens whilst also ensuring views to Kyle are unobstructed. Low walls create additional shelter in key areas.
The overall landscape design aims to integrate the site into the wider setting. The steep slopes which connect the individual plots are vegetated with an species-rich long-grass mix, interspersed with heather drifts. Trees species are coordinated with the wider surroundings.
